Fruit of the Gods

Have you tried a persimmon?

Persimmon, (Latin for divine food or fruit of the gods), are now available in store - but only for a limited time.

Choose persimmon that are firm with a smooth bright skin. Sweet persimmons, such as the Fuyu variety, do not have to be fully ripe to be eaten, so can be eaten like an apple, whilst still firm and crisp, as well as once ripened and softened. Store persimmons at room temperature for up to 3 days. Wash gently before eating. They can be eaten peeled or unpeeled, stem and calyx (the flowered shape cap) removed, and cut into pieces. You can eat them like a kiwi fruit, scooping out the flesh, or you can cut into slices and reveal the star pattern! Try one today!
